Fate
A poem for a friend.
I have come to realize that, in every life, we have known each other. (As friends, as lovers) Our paths were always meant to cross. Our stars always shining in tandem with the other. It seems as though my fingers fit perfectly between yours. (That’s why it’s so easy for them to remain intertwined) And my head, in the crook of your neck. (That’s why to lean on you I have always felt inclined) You are my best friend. (You always are) You are the love of my life. (In one way or another) May this union be blessed. May it always remain pure. Baptized year after year In the fragrant floods of Florida Water.
