Grief, Pt. II
For those who are grieving a life of another or a life of their own.
Today, I welcome the tears. For the hardest rains have always bloomed the prettiest flowers. Today, I welcome the anger. For a phoenix cannot rise without its flames. Today, I welcome loneliness. For it is a blessing to have someone to miss. Today, I welcome darkness. For life’s joys would not shine as bright without it. Today, I welcome grief. For it is proof that I loved—enough so, that I ache in their absence. Its presence brings pain. But it is a pain that I would welcome again and again. For it shows that I lived. And that I was touched by the life of another. A reminder to my grief: You are love enduring.
